Dear St Mary & St John Parents and Carers,
It has been another busy and exciting time in school, and it has been wonderful to see the children so engaged in their learning and the many opportunities taking place across the school community.
Please find our latest school newsletter in the link above, which shares a snapshot of some of the activities, achievements and events from the past few weeks.
Highlights include:
- Celebrating International Women’s Day in assembly
- A wonderful World Book Day, with thanks to Miss Kelsall for organising such a fun celebration of reading
- Our Bollywood dancers representing the school brilliantly at the Oxfordshire Dance Festival at the New Theatre
- Creative preparations for our upcoming One Picture whole-school arts project
- Year 3 and 4 busy rehearsing for their upcoming performance on our brand-new stage
- Outdoor learning and music activities across the school
- Year 6 tackling challenging maths problems as they explored how to find the area of shapes
- A reminder about upcoming parent consultation meetings
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our fantastic PTA and to all the families who supported our World Book Day sponsored read, helping to raise a fantastic £2,800 for the school. It has been wonderful to see so many children excited about reading while supporting our community at the same time.
As always, the final page of the newsletter includes important upcoming dates for your diary – we’ve updated up until the end of the year (including Sports Day and the Dance Festival!).
