Dear St Mary & St John Parents and Carers,
Please find our latest school newsletter in the blue link above, sharing a snapshot of what has been happening during our first full week back, alongside some important reminders and dates for the weeks ahead.
Highlights include:
- Our start-of-year Celebrations, exploring growth, perseverance and our school vision, ‘Let all that you do be done in love’
- A fantastic return to school, with children showing brilliant ‘can do’ attitudes and revisiting our Ready, Respectful, Safe expectations
- An update on how we share children’s images safely on social media
- Important allergy guidance, including a reminder that we are a nut and sesame-free school and ask families not to send hummus
- Details of The Great St Mary & St John Bake Off, taking place on Friday 25th September in support of Macmillan Cancer Support
- Information about Meet the Teachers on Wednesday 16th September
- Reception 2027 school visits and application dates
- Warm wishes to families celebrating Rosh Hashanah
As always, the newsletter also includes our latest #WakeUpWednesday online safety guidance, this time looking at Character.AI and AI companionship, together with our Self-Care September wellbeing focus.
At the end of the newsletter, you will also find our 2026–27 school calendar and Term 1 ‘Big Dates’, including upcoming workshops, exhibitions, Bikeability, Parent Consultations and our October INSET day. Please do keep these somewhere handy, while remembering that dates can occasionally change.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership with us. It has been a really positive first full week, and we have loved seeing the children settle so confidently into the new school year.
Wishing you all a very happy and restful weekend.
With best wishes,
Bex Stott and the St Mary & St John Team
Headteacher
